TOP 10
FAQS

Q • What is the average turnaround time for your banners?

Our standard turnaround time for custom orders is 4–6 weeks, which includes design, material sourcing, production, and shipping. Timelines may vary depending on the scope of the project and material availability.

Q • What if I needed it yesterday?

If you need your project completed urgently, we offer expedited service. Our standard rush fee is 25% of the quoted project cost, plus any expedited shipping costs.

Q • How much does a handcrafted Salty Detroit banner cost?

Pricing depends on four factors: complexity, size, quantity, and turnaround time. For example, an 18" × 24" banner featuring a simple logo, brief text or graphic starts at $175. We believe it’s important for you to feel confident in your investment, so we’re always happy to discuss ballpark pricing upfront for any custom collaborations or projects.

Q • Tell me more about your design process...

Every custom project includes a personalized digital design deck detailing artwork, colors, quantities, and more. Two rounds of revisions are included; additional rounds are $125 each. We don’t sew a single stitch until your design feels just right.

Q • Do you have a physical studio space?

Yes. We are headquartered in an authentic 1950s machine shop in Warren, MI – home of General Motors. We're currently in the design phase of a renovation to expand production and offer in-person client engagement. More to come!

Q • Who is your preferred shipping vendor?

Based on our experience, UPS is our most reliable carrier. All custom orders ship via UPS and include tracking and insurance.

Q • How do I clean my banner?

Life happens. We recommend gently rubbing any spots with a dry towel, which can help lift marks from the felt. For more stubborn areas, spot-clean by hand using mild soap and water. Please DO NOT machine wash or dry your banner.

Q • My banner is a bit "wavy" after shipping - how do I fix this?

We care about the packaging of your banner as much as the banner itself. Depending on its size, your banner may be rolled, or gently folded for shipping. To help release any tension from transit, lay it flat on a surface and give an even, gentle tug on all four corners – gravity should do the rest. Lightly rubbing your hands over the banner can also help smooth out any creases, or wrinkles.

Q • What is your return policy?

Just like a home-cooked meal, everything we make is crafted from scratch. Because of this level of care and customization, we’re unable to accept returns, exchanges or refunds on custom orders. Thank you for understanding.

Q • Are you a Stockist?

Yes. For stockist inquiries please email lindsay@saltydetroit.com - thank you!
