FAQS

Q • What is the average turnaround time for your banners?

Our standard turnaround time for custom orders is 6–8 weeks, which includes design, material sourcing, production, and shipping. Timelines may vary depending on the scope of the project and material availability.

Q • What if I needed it yesterday?

If you need your project completed urgently, we offer expedited service. Our standard rush fee is 25% of the quoted project cost, plus any expedited shipping costs.

Q • How much does a handcrafted Salty Detroit banner cost?

Pricing mainly depends on three factors: complexity, size, and turnaround time. We believe it’s important for you to feel confident in your investment, so we’re always happy to discuss ballpark pricing upfront for any custom collaborations or projects.

Q • Tell me more about your design / production process...

We’ve developed an exclusive three-phase production process designed to deliver one thing: your complete satisfaction. Explore the OUR PROCESS section of our site to see how your banner comes to life – from intial concept to final stitch.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to email us anytime at info@saltydetroit.com  – we appreciate your interest in our brand.

Q • Who is your preferred shipping vendor?

Based on our experience, UPS is our most reliable carrier. All custom orders ship UPS and include insurance and tracking.

Q • Do you have a physical studio space?

Yes. We are headquartered in an authentic 1950s machine shop in Warren, Michigan – home of the legendary General Motors Tech Center. We're currently in the design phase of a renovation to expand production and offer in-person client engagement. More to come!

Q • How do I clean my banner?

Life happens. For any spots, or stains we recommend having your banner professionally dry-cleaned. Please DO NOT (ever) machine wash or dry your banner.

Q • My banner is a bit "wavy" after shipping - how do I fix this?

We put as much care into packaging your banner as we do crafting it. Depending on its size, your banner may arrive rolled or gently folded. To release any tension from transit, lay it flat and gently tug each corner evenly. Hanging your banner will also help any wrinkles or waves naturally relax over time.

If needed, your banner can be ironed on the WOOL setting (typically medium heat). Always place a clean cotton handkerchief or T-shirt between the iron and your banner to protect the felt. Never iron your banner directly without a cotton barrier.

Q • What is your return policy?

Just like a home-cooked meal, everything we make is crafted from scratch. Because of this level of care and customization, we’re unable to accept returns, exchanges or refunds on custom orders. Thank you for understanding.

Q • Are you a Stockist?

Yes, when it makes sense. For stockist inquiries please email lindsay@saltydetroit.com - thank you!
